Hello & Author Spotlight

Standard

Hello everyone!

How are you doing? Hope all the mothers out there had a GREAT Mother’s Day this past Sunday. I didn’t have any money to buy my mom anything, but she loves it when I make something from the heart, so I just drew her a card. I wanted to create a post to say Hi because it’s been quite a while since I’ve posted anything and to spotlight an author who is doing a Blog Hop and I offered to post her book on here. So, below, you will find information on Lisa Litberg and the links to her book “Free”.

Author Bio:

For as long as she can remember, Lisa Litberg has loved to write.  Over the years she has amassed quite a collection of short stories and poetry, but Free is her first novel.  A high school teacher for 15 years, she tries to empower her urban students with the written word.  When she isn’t writing or teaching, Lisa might be dancing, playing guitar, practicing aerial arts, or hanging out in her Chicago home with her son Trevor watching The Walking Dead or Game of Thrones.

Book Blurb:

Since leaving home at the age of 18, Free has traveled the country trying to find a place to call home.  Her travels afford a variety of experiences, from following the Grateful Dead to waitressing in Chicago to selling jewelry in New Orleans’ French Market, but nothing seems to quell her sense of unrest.  All the while her estranged brother Alfie is in her thoughts.  Once she finds him, perhaps she’ll finally feel at home.  But her world is filled with bad choices and temptations, and Free must rise above these in order to find her place.

The reader will feel as if they are traveling right alongside Free in this moving coming-of-age story.

Hello everyone! Bunch of stuff today!

Standard

Hi all!!!!!

Yeah, I know, it’s been FOREVER since I’ve posted anything. Ah, let’s see…sometime in December because I remember writing about New Years and such. Well, a LOT has happened since then. My year has been going great so far. I am almost finished with the first book in my Series, “Cupid’s Cyber Connection”. Gotta do a little reviewing and seeing if I have to add anything to it. I’ve started a book cover service as well, so if anyone needs a book cover made for their book, visit the website: Jamie’s Book Designs – Book Cover Service. I have also created a Facebook page for it if you want to check it out and “Like” it. I’m also promoting my author page a little more, which I am proud to say has 285 Likes! Here is the page if you’d like to check it out: Jamie L. Kaplan – Author and here is the link to the Book Cover service FB page: Jamie’s Book Designs – Facebook Page. If you all could help and spread the word to other authors out there, I would be so appreciative. I do charge for my book covers, so please read the Price List carefully, then send in your requests using the form I have on the Book Cover Form page. The instructions are on the page, but if you do have other questions, you can e-mail me at JamieLKaplan@hotmail.com (There is a contact form on the website as well). So far, the page as 8 Likes, which isn’t bad. Here is the cover I have chosen for the book series and I may keep it throughout the series, and just change the book number.

Cupid's Cyber Connection Cover 3Let me know what you think about it. I believe that this book will do better than my last three books. I’ve also thought about dabbling in Children’s books. Since I’ve been sick with Sinusitis and had a double ear infection (still dealing with it, ugh), I’ve decided to write a Children’s book about how being sick is no fun. I think children will like it. Parents can read it their kids when their sick, it will make them feel better. Well, that’s all I have for right now. I will try to update much sooner than before haha.

Until next time!

Happy New Year and Book Promo!

Standard

Hello everyone!!!

Happy New Year!!!! Hard to believe it’s now 2015! I hope everyone had a GREAT Christmas and got everything they wanted, and I hope that everyone has a very blessed, and wonderous 2015. I have a book that I’d like to promote. A good friend of mine wrote it and it is her first ebook on Amazon so I thought I would try to help her out and get her book some publicity. Here is the link if you’d like to check it out: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00RW16ARC. The the book is called “The Bingo Caller” and the synopsis sounds very interesting. And if you’d like to talk to her personally, her Facebook link is: https://www.facebook.com/xanxa.symanah. I would love to get back into promoting books so if you know anyone who’s writing and selling on Amazon, tell them to e-mail me at JamieLKaplan@hotmail.com with their book information, a little blurb about themselves, and any Facebook/Twitter/etc links they may have. I’ve been trying to write a story myself but it’s just not coming to me. I have a good beginning, but I’m stuck from there. My writing muse disappeared on me. Not sure where he went, haha. Hopefully, he’ll come back to my conscious soon and I can start writing again. I can post the beginning here so you guys can read it and provide feedback if you’d like. Well, please check out my friend’s book and I hope you guys like it. 🙂

Until next time…

Hi! Just a little blurb…

Standard

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to post a little blurb saying hi and that I hope everyone has a very Happy Thanksgiving! It’s so unbelievable how it’s already almost the end of November, and that we’ll soon be going into the Christmas holiday! It seems like this year has just FLOWN by! What are some of the things you guys are thankful for? I’m thankful for my family, friends, my two cats, my writing talent, my education, and more importantly, I’m thankful for being here on this Earth and for God giving me the air to breathe and life to live! Are there any traditions you guys do for the holidays, especially around Thanksgiving/Christmas? With me, I just spend time at home with my family, eat a big meal, then just relax and sleep it off haha. Do any of you participate in Black Friday shopping? I do not! Haha! I don’t want to be trampled by the crowds just to get something that I can always get later. If I want it that bad, I’ll just convince myself that I don’t really need it right now. Feel free to leave a comment with your thoughts on the holidays and my questions up above. 🙂 Also, I’m trying to think of a new idea for a new book. I’m thinking about doing a holiday story, but it wouldn’t be published unti that particular holiday. For example, if I do a Thanksgiving type story, I won’t put it out until Nov. of next year, and the same for Christmas. If you guys have any suggestions for a story, let me know in the comments. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Great Book News!!!

Hello everyone!

I have some great book news for you all! I finished my latest book, “Killer Instinct”, last night, and I have now uploaded it onto Amazon, but it won’t be available until at least tomorrow because it has to have 12 hours for it to be reviewed and published. I have also created a paperback version on CreateSpace, so as soon as that one passes review, I will edit this post and put up both of the links for Amazon and CreateSpace (Which CreateSpace will put the paperback version on Amazon anyway so I will just put both the Kindle and Paperback Amazon links here). It has taken me countless months to complete this book and I feel like I did a better job on this one than I did on “Online Innocence” and “Death on the Aisle”. I took my time on this one. Just thought I’d post and let you all know that “Killer Instinct” is now finished and in the works of being published for your buying/reading pleasure! 🙂

Edit: Here are the links for the Kindle version, as well as the Paperback version. Right now through Oct. 30th, you can get the book for free on Kindle. The paperback version is $3.79. If you like the book, spread the word to your friends and family who like Suspense/Thriller/Horror novels!

Kindle: http://www.amazon.com/Killer-Instinct-Jamie-Kaplan-ebook/dp/B00OSQ8LXU (Free until Oct. 30th)
Paperback: https://www.createspace.com/5066071 ($3.99)

Until next time!

Hey, long time, no post!

Standard

Hello everyone!

Yes, I know it’s been a long time since I’ve posted on here and it because I’ve been very busy with my personal life. I’m currently fixing to attend school again to get a degree in Early Childhood Education. So, I’ve been trying to figure out Financial Aid and everything else. My book, “Killer Instinct”, is going great so far! I’m on Chapter 13 right now and have a lot planned out for it. Can not wait to get it finished. That’s why you have not heard a lot from me because I have been working on that lately. I’m taking my time on this one because I feel like my other two books were rushed the reason why they didn’t sell too well. I’m hoping that this one will bring in the readers. 🙂 And I know I haven’t done any promos/interviews lately, but I will get back to them. Just thought I would update you all. Talk to you all soon!

Hi! Book news!

Standard

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to put a post up to tell you all that I’m working on a new book! It’s gonna be a slow process because in August, I will be going back to school to get another degree in Early Childhood Education, so I will be concentrating more on my studies than writing, SO, that being said, the publishing date for it is TBA. Here is a synopsis of my book, “Killer Instinct” to tie you over until then:

Killer Instinct

The Lawrence family has had a lot to deal with in their life. Their youngest son, Aiden, has been plagued with nightmares his whole life. When he tries to murder his parents one night, they put him in a mental hospital, hoping that it will cure him of his killer instincts. After a week at the hospital, it seems like all is well when nothing happens for a couple of years. When he’s sixteen and in High School, it starts all over again. Aiden begins having hallucinations of him killing everyone he comes in contact with, even his teachers. They suggest to his parents that they take him out of school and place him in an asylum. The parents agree and put him in the local mental asylum, where he stays for the rest of his life. Avery moves to New York and joins the NYPD. One day, she gets word about someone who has gone on a killing spree in the area. She fears that Aiden might’ve escaped the asylum, and is now acting on his instincts. Avery wants to help out with the case, but her boss tells her not to get involved. Against his wishes, she goes out and tries to help track down the guy, only finding out that her worst fear comes true.

Hope you all like it whenever it gets published. I will keep you all informed of the progress!

Talk to you all later!

Hello everyone!

Yes, I know it’s been a long time since I posted something. I haven’t had internet for a while at home and we need to get a new internet card soon. I have been trying to write again but my brain just doesn’t want to think for some reason. Ugh! I’ve hit a major writer’s block wall. Don’t you hate when that happens? But I do have a few ideas that I need to work on, but I’m in the middle of trying to write a story now, just need to do some research on it first so that I make sure it’s legit when you read it and you’re not sitting there going, “What in the world is she talking about?” haha. But if you have any books that you have recently put out that need some attention, let me know and I will put them on the blog here. Also, if you’d like to have an interview or do a guest blog, by all means, please e-mail me at JamieLKaplan@hotmail.com and I will get it underway.

Until next time!

Hey Everyone! Lots of new stuff this week!

Standard

Hello all!

Just wanted to post an update on here, letting you all know what’s going down. There are a few things coming up this week. One of them being a book promo, a giveaway, AND a guest blog! Yep, that’s a lot, I know! Plus, I have come up with some new story ideas and will be writing again very soon. I have at least 2 book ideas ready to go. So excited about that! Just not sure which one I want to start with first, haha. But it’ll be a surprise, that’s for sure. I haven’t written in a while due to my recent bout of depression. But now that it’s over with, I’m ready to get back to it. I believe that is all for now. Just wanted to make my weekly post deadline (yeah, I have a bad memory so I have it remind me to post weekly, or else, I’d forget about this little thing. I don’t keep up with these very well).

Until next time!

Hello and some Book Promos!

Standard

Hey everyone!

I am so sorry that I have not posted in a few days, week, whatever it’s been lol. I have not had internet for a few days so I had to wait until we got some to put up a new post. I have some book promos to put up for some people. So, without any further ado:

1. Author: Marcus Chatman
Title: The Bayou Classic
Synopsis: The Bayou Classic is a fictional story that describes the lives of a group of inner city kids and their journey from high school, college, and beyond, The story revolves around the girls Areille, Carissma, and Jasmine, three teenagers who are struggling to to be good students while simultaneously dealing with the pressures that come along with living in the ghetto. You also have their male counterparts Derek, Bingo, Skeeter, and Stepper.

With Bingo being the fearless rebel in the crew, there’s never a dull moment. With Skeeter being the savvy street smart hustler there’s never a sure thing, it’s always a gamble. With Stepper being the suave playboy in he crew it’s always interesting to watch him juggle his many women. Lastly theres Derek, the level headed, hard worker who is struggling to find his way through life without getting into any trouble.

Like life, trouble eventually finds its way into the mix and effects the entire group. They eventually find themselves banding together to help each other get through. This story is sure to captivate the reader and draw you into the lives of each individual character. This story is not written from a spectators point of view, but the characters themselves narrate the events that take place, which will effectively connect each reader to the the characters in the story. There is also another very interesting twist to this story. This entire story is written in poetry form, meaning the entire story rhymes. So the entire novel is basically a poem. Each page has its own individual character, each page is its very own entity. If you love drama, romance, comedy, action, and suspense, then you’ve definitely pick the perfect story.

2. Author: Aaron Cross
Title: Robocopter Ski Patrol
Synopsis: “The year is…some year. Let’s say the present. Yellow cake uranium sits, waiting to be sold, in a foreign country. The leader hides himself away, fearing assassination – as he should, because that’s how the country works. It’s kind of a stupid country. And well he should worry, for skulking his way around Europe is an ambitious Baron just looking for the right opportunity to seize the throne and all the powers and chances that come with it. If only his pets would stop exploding… Across the ocean, Adam Bitchenstein attempts to win over Miss Girl from Ipanema for the nth time. However, a phone call from out of the blue will change everything in their lives forever. It’s always a phone call, right? Join Adam, Miss Girl from Ipanema, and a cast of idiots and perverts as they seek to stop the balance of world power from changing before it’s too late.

From porn-star spies to knockoff dinosaurs, from unhealthy amounts of binge-drinking to political machinations, Robocopter Ski Patrol will take you across countries, continents, and the boundaries of love. Also, there’s a Robocopter. There’s also time paradoxes, miniaturized bears, nuclear weapons, blogging, and other cool things in there. Basically, if the Internet threw up, this would be a fairly accurate representation of what that would look like. Well, maybe minus the cats.”

3. Author: Joan Diehl
Title: Once Upon a War
Subtitle: The Diary of a Waiting Wife
Synopsis: Throughout the Vietnam War, in the Kansas town of Salina, existed a thriving community called Schilling Manor. Thousands of families, including mine, waited there for loved ones to return home.

While my husband, Glen, an Air Force captain, was in Vietnam, I was solely responsible for our five young children. We had been living in a civilian community while he earned a degree in aerospace engineering at Texas A&M University. I chose to live in Schilling Manor rather than remain in a civilian neighborhood where fathers come home at night. Not only could I count on military support during Glen’s long absence, we would be near relatives in Topeka.

My story recalls the daily struggles of “single” moms, as well as political turmoil, assassinations, Vietcong attacks, and media gloom and doom. Anecdotes, many involving our 3-year-old son Warren, aka “Feller,” either lightened or added to life’s difficulties during an era when denigration of the military prevailed.

Almost every day brought a new challenge. Illness, frustration and exhaustion became the norm. Days, especially weekends, would not pass quickly enough, as the waiting seemed endless. However, community involvement and friendship with other waiting wives helped me throughout the sixteen months that I called Schilling Manor home. There has never been another community like it.
